httpd.conf apache question

Hello,

We currently use SEPM httpd.conf file to restrict download access to the SEPM servers.  I understand that this is an unsupported solution and we also using it as somewhat as a temporary solution. 

My question is:  Just like putting in an allow statement in the httpd.conf file for a specific IP address or a subnet such as allow from 192.168.0.1 .  Is it possible to use a sepm group instead such as Allow from My Company\Testgroup\Remote Clients  ?

Is it possible to do something like this or similar solution that achieves the same goal?
