I have searched the forums and tried every recommendation I could find to resolve this issue.
We have installed SPSS 6.0.5 in our Dev and QA environments and have it working for "scan on upload". We are now trying to install in our Production environment but after 3 hours of installing could not get the Console service to run. We have attempted to re-install/repair as well as server reboots to no avail. Symantec Links in Central Administration did appear when installed but the links do not work as the services are not running. After killing the Symantec processes and restarting the SPSS service we receive Errors in the event log as quoted below followed closely by the service "stopping" state. During install the Services are being installed using the SharePoint Farm administrator SVC Account which is also a local admin on the Server. The Symantec EndPoint exceptions have been put in place and the security of the farm administrator account has been validated on the servers AND in the sql instance.
Our SharePoint farm consists of 9 application tier servers:
3 app servers, 2 wfe, 2 crawlers, 2 indexers
Initial install was on the pair of WFE which also run Central Administration. At this point I attempted to verify the services were running and I could configure the console but the services were already in Stopping state. I then restarted both WFE which came back up and SPSS failed almost immediately.
